چکیده

There is reasonable agreement between the orientation of the major axes of the a*b* tolerance ellipses in the blue region and the slope of the tritanopic confusion lines passing through their centers. This agreement includes some experimental facts such as the approximate constant orientation of the ellipses when the luminance of the center changes and the clockwise rotation of the major axis of the ellipses when the luminous source D65 is replaced by A. However, the tilts predicted by the tritanopic lines do not follow the pattern proposed by the CIEDE2000 color-difference formula; in particular, for the blue-green centers with hue angles lower than 255°, the high tilts predicted by the tritanopic lines are quite different. From 132 ellipses previously reported, we found that the orientations of the 17 ellipses in the blue region (255° h 320°) were similarly predicted by both CIEDE2000 and the tritanopic confusion lines (average error of 12.2° in absolute value). © 2001 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Reduced Discrimination in the Tritanopic Confusion Line for Congenital Color Deficiency Adults

In congenital color blindness the red-green discrimination is impaired resulting in an increased confusion between those colors with yellow. Our post-receptoral physiological mechanisms are organized in two pathways for color perception, a red-green (protanopic and deuteranopic) and a blue-yellow (tritanopic). We argue that the discrimination losses in the yellow area in congenital color vision...

Objective specification of tritanopic confusion lines using visual evoked potentials

The minimum distinct border (MDB) between different isoluminant hues of a bipartite field was set subjectively by adjustment and then according to a 3-point rating allowing determination of the S-cone specific (tritanopic) axis. This rating was compared with visual evoked potentials (VEPs) generated by coarse, isoluminant gratings, modulated along the same chromatic axes. Psychophysically deter...

The Relationship Between Multiple Dimensions of Schizotypy and Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms: The Mediating Role of Inferential Confusion

Objective: The relationship between obsessive-compulsive and schizotypal symptoms has been repeatedly mentioned in various studies, but the exact pattern of this relationship is still unclear. Recently, Inference Based Approach (IBA) tries to explain this relationship through the inferential confusion (IC). This study aimed to determine the mediating role of the inferential confusion in the rel...

Red–green and blue–yellow mechanisms are matched in sensitivity for temporal and spatial modulation

The spatial and temporal properties of human colour vision are examined using isoluminant, red--green and blue--yellow tritanopic gratings. Chromatic sensitivity is found to be low-pass as a function of both spatial and temporal frequency along all the chromatic axes investigated, including the tritanopic confusion lines employed to examine the properties of the S-cone driven mechanism. Compari...
